Thanks islandguitar! You havenít seen other builders do something like this because, well, other builders are just smarter then me! I just donít know no better and usually say yes, and then later try to figure out what I said yes to!

and then the imagination of those wood patterns in back and sides, top and fretboard under finish..
Flabbergastingly beautiful I bet.
A looker ! Kudos Mark, yet another unique Hatcher !

Thanks Lonzo, I never forget how lucky I am to be able to work with such special woods like The Tree.

Thanks, Spartan is a good look too. I guess Iím a bit fickle, cause I like them all!

Thanks for commenting Ty, that figure in the Tree Mahogany is mesmerizing. I usually keep it out of sight so I can get work done!

Welcome to the forum Delfiente, I see you just signed up last month and you are already losing a kidney? Uh oh, looks youíre going to be in trouble looking at the builds people put up here! 🙂

Thanks!

That's a gorgeous guitar, Mark--that naptha really shows how incredible this will look under finish! It brought out so much figure with lots of imaginary characters popping out!

Thanks Lonzo! It is a fun guitar to photograph. I just got a new laptop with an incredibly bright screen. I need to spend some time to adjust that so my pictures arenít so dark. Itís amazing how different images can look from screen to screen.

Was this uncovered from King Tut's tomb? That back looks amazing under finish. Go Mark!

Lonzo 04-30-2020 01:20 PM

How can that be ..?

... a flat surface ?:D

Jamiejoon 04-30-2020 01:45 PM

WOWWWWWWW. That is some TREE! Bravo.

Roksbug 04-30-2020 02:59 PM

That is an unbelievable work of art!

Dave Higham 04-30-2020 03:34 PM

That must be the best example of the tree I've ever seen. It really is hard to believe it's flat. And perfectly bookmatched. Are you sure you didn't photograph half of it and flip the photo ? ;)

Yes it is hard to believe it is flat, even when you're holding it in your hands.

Thanks for commenting Dave. This set is ridiculously well matched. Here is another picture to help prove the match is not some sort of trickery!:

If that isn't the loveliest guitar I've ever seen, I can't think of what was. It's breathtaking

Lonzo 05-01-2020 09:21 AM

That top looks like the surface of a lake with a little wind causing gentle ripples on it...

swiftz07 05-01-2020 11:22 AM

looks absolutely spectacular Mark!

j. Kinnaird 05-01-2020 01:31 PM

Beautiful guitar Mark. I want to know how you do that lacy inlay. And what is that material anyway?
