2001 Collings OM1A Short Scale Sunburst. Adirondack top. SOLD.

For sale is my 2001 Collings. I am the original owner, having ordered the guitar through Elderly Instruments with the following appointments:
Adirondack spruce top 1 3/4" nut short scale sunburst finish The sound of this guitar had a beautiful pre-war vibe right out of the box, which has only improved as it has matured. Fit and finish is the usual Collings level of excellence. The back is constructed with a particularly beautiful figured mahogany. The combination of Adirondack over mahogany gives a fundamental, strong sound combined with a “woody” tone. The short scale, in addition to making the guitar slightly easier to play, adds an element of warmth to the tone. This guitar is, of course, an excellent fingerstyle machine but works for flatpicking too, unless you are looking for a booming bluegrass bass. It is in near mint condition except for a small dimple on the upper treble bout(not through the finish) and some finish clouding on the top edge of the binding at the bass side of the lower bout (as seen in close ups). There is no fret or fingerboard wear. Collings TKL case. |
I've had a couple of inquiries regarding trades, so I want to add that I am only looking to sell... too many guitars!

Another photo that gives a better idea of the dimple on the guitar top. It is much less noticeable than the first picture might make it seem, less than an eighth of an inch in diameter.
Additional information: the neck is the Collings "Modified V" |
