Got my Emerald Fusion carbon composite acoustic guitar today.

Hi,

In a recent thread I asked questions about Emerald composite guitars and I
finally decided to buy the Fusion (the less expensive in the range) because a member of another guitar Forum had got one a few weeks ago and was quite happy with it.
I have owned several Rainsong and CA guitars, and I currently own a Rainsong Advanced Series, which is their latest . I think I am a fan of
carbon/composite guitars... any way, the first thing that really surprised me with the Fusion is that the guitar (back and sides, neck, bridge, top) is
just ONE piece. Rainsong guitars are three pieces: back-sides, top, neck.
CA guitars are two pieces: back-sides-top, and the neck.
How can Emerald build a guitar in one piece, perfectly carved and empty inside, I don't know.
The Fusion has an OM cutaway shape, therefore it has quite a thin body,
and it is very confortable to play like every OM sized guitar.
It is extremely playable, with low action and a fast neck. The nut width is a way in the middle between 11/16 and 3/4. String spacing is good and I had no problem playing fingerstyle.
The nut and the saddle are black Graphtech material.
The guitar sounds even and balanced, with a clear separation between each note, which is something I like a lot. It has plnt of harmonics and plenty of sustain. It is not loud, I would say it is an intimate guitar. It does not sound really like a wood guitar (like CA guitars) but the sound is very modern and not harsh at all.
Amplified (it has a B-Band active transducer) it sounds very well, with rich
and warm basses and ringing trebles.
So far I am happy, especially considering that the Fusion has a very attractive retail price for a composite acoustic-electric guitar.
Thank you for your attention,

Thanks for posting such a good, detailed write up. l've wondered about those guitars as well.

All in all, that sounds like quite a nice instrument to have! :)

start trying to find a dealer nearby. I was thinking of getting a CA
sometime in the future but will definitly check these out.
