Madsen Koa Jumbo
This will be a first thread on the Acoustic Guitar Forum for Madsen Guitars, if there are any mistakes or critiques please let me know. That being said, I'm not new to the luthier industry but new to using the Forum to display my work. In all truths I've paid to be a sponsor for three years and been too busy or reclusive to draw attention on this platform. After some encouragement from other users of the Forum, I have decided its about time to contribute to the discussion on here. So here we go!
This custom order was placed last May and I've been excited all summer to get started on it. The customer who this is being built for had been searching for a very outstanding set of Koa for this specific build, and boy did we find a good one! He has several custom builds from other distinguished luthiers and I'm very appreciative to have an opportunity to get one of mine among his stable of guitars. There are some other special items that will be included in this build along the way that should be interesting including, a custom inlay for the rosette/inner Soundhole as well as a corresponding Baritone Ukulele that will be built along the way from the scrap pieces of Koa. Stay tuned for more photos and details in the coming days and weeks! Welcome to the forum--or to the posting aspects, anyways!
Looks like you're off to a great start with an awesome set of woods. Looking forward to following along... |
I concur, any builds are always fun to watch, and wow what a set of Koa and the Bear Claw spruce is an amazing piece also. This should be beautiful when finished.

So will your guitar have a florentine or venetian cutaway? |

Sorry for the confusion, it is a Florentine cutaway. |
