Help Identify Old Unbranded Archtop Acoustic Guitar
Hi All,
Found this old guitar when clearing a house contents, it's unbranded but marked Foreign on the back of the headstock, it's had some old repairs in the past and is looking a bit tired, can anyone identify who the maker might have been? my best guess is Hofner but I'm no expert. https://postimg.cc/gallery/HczC96Z |
Headstock resembles a Harmony, sort of.

Zero fret, full-width block position markers, body contours, neck heel shape, and f-hole size/shape/placement make me think post-war German/East European, possibly a lower-line Hofner - in any event it's not an expensive instrument then or now...

A great many of these were made post war in the eastern Germany/Czech region. There were many small luthier workshops in the area, and I believe that some were made for or by Hofner and others were made for various other distributors.

My instinct is not Hofner, only because the neck heel isn't tapered the way Hofners are. But eastern europe is a safe bet.

I believe its a basic model Musima, made in East Germany. You can see many photos (and read about the company, but in German here:
