Wren Guitar Works : Lutz/Madagascar build
Hi Folks!
I've put a concerted effort into spending less time on the computer and more time in the shop recently, but thought I'd post an abbreviated build thread just for fun. This one is a commission for a U.S. gent living in Paris. He is going for a very classically understated aesthetic, but chose some gorgeous tonewood for the project. Here's some specs. Concert non-cut body Master Grade Lutz spruce top Madagascar rosewood back & sides (with some nice "Rio" grain pattern) Ebony body binding Spalted maple rosette with Padauk rings Medium elliptical neck profile Madagascar rosewood peghead veneer and backstrap Gotoh 510 tuners with black buttons and brushed brass finish 25.4" scale length I started off by preparing some components, before getting into the heavy lifting. http://wrenguitarworks.com/WhatsNew/...nPrepParts.jpg |
Looking forward to this...

Here's a shot of me bending the solid lining. I'm finding these days that I'm getting good sonic results from a stiff side assembly with decent mass. . |
Welcome back David. Its great to see another one of your classy and beautiful builds on the AGF. Your tasteful and inspiring artwork has been missed.
