I walked off stage after sound check and didn’t realize my guitar cable was wrapped around my ankle. I pulled the guitar off the stage. Lots of dings, scratches and cracks. I was sick.

Just purchased a new Higher end Taylor. In my experimenting at home, I am changing preamps, adjusting sound on my Bose and I am concerned I do this again. I get excited, get in a hurry and I am afraid I move too quickly.

I have a less expensive wireless I purchased on Amazon. Works okay for my passive pickups, but creates a brittle sound on my active (Martin and Taylor). I would love to have a reliable wireless, that didn’t degrade the great tone I am getting. This way I have no cables to trip over!

Would love to know how this might work with the ES.2. I would even try the Xvive unit.

The system in my video will work great!

Hi Aaron,

So I just bought the 5.8 system (now up to $79.99 on Amazon) and it doesn't work with any of my guitars. Wondering if I've gotten a dud. Can you briefly talk about the pair process? The included sheet seems pretty basic, just turn on and it auto-pairs. But I get nothing at all from any of my guitars.

I just got mine this week and it works fine. Just turned it on and it worked.

Maybe it's not charged? Maybe not plugged in all the way? You probably checked all that already but I'm just trying to help.

Got it working. User error. I did have it fully charged. The battery was dead on the first guitar I tried and then when I tried it on the second the volume was turned all the way down! Doh!!

Really like my Xvives with my J45s.

No antenna. Not sure if bluetooth.

I do know if you have multiple guitars using xvive you have to
flick to the next send/rec slot.

Thanks very much for your video. I went on Amazon and could not locate this particular system you speak of, WG5-- I see the others that you advise staying away from... Is there a link to this item? THX!

I bought the Carvin WG5 and it works well with all my systems.

This is the one Aaron original recommended to me that I bought and has worked flawlessly. Note that the price has climbed almost $20 since I bought it! Still a bargain!!

I've been using the Xvive u2 for awhile and they work great. I've bought a second set for a spare.

ac 02-24-2020 08:47 AM

It's Journey guitar's own proprietary design--K&K mini clone--and comes installed on all their guitars. It's passive.

Somewhere on the forum someone discussed how to use active pickups with these in case there is an issue I'll see if I can find some reference to that.

*****Just found the post how to use an active pickup with any of these wireless clones:

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...6&postcount=23

I doubt the wireless of the Ammoon is coloring the sound any differently than any of the others would. The harshness you are hearing is likely what your pickup produces--and likely related to being a hot active.

All of these wireless units basically broadcast the signal fed to it. Electrics will sound like electrics, acoustics, like the type of pickup being used.

I'm guessing the wireless circuit board & electronics likely have a single manufacturing source. If more than that, they've simply copied from each other. All of these "me too" units are from China. You choose the shell form that appeals most to you.

You might try another brand, and find there actually is a big difference. I don't think this will be true, but if so, let us know.

I'm happy enough with the Ammoon.

As a bonus, it came packaged much more nicely than I thought it would be.
