Very nice!

Wow, very dramatic! Especially the first one - and the colours on the third one are lovely!

Nice one.

We got some great videos and photos of an impressive thunderstorm over the Swedish mainland when we were visiting the island of Gotland one year.

Wow, those are outstanding! Lightning is an amazing thing... something to be respected, for sure.

Dru Edwards 05-08-2021 05:19 AM

Rob, fantastic! Very ominous. The center of that first pic looks like a vengeful mouth opening up like some Iron Maiden tune or a Stephen King novel. Fear of the Dark.

Wow!!!! Great camera work by you and great show from Mother Nature.

Beautiful; thanks for sharing

Awesome shots, Rob. You must be a patient man, as I can't imagine you timed those shots - guessing you took many more that ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor.

Love your sense of lighting! Great job.

I stood there for about half an hour and took about 500 pics. There are some more decent ones I'll post later.

But it was really going off anyhow:

I am so jealous. I have not seen lightning, or heard thunder in 20 years...more. We do not get it here. Or very very rarely.

jpd 05-08-2021 09:41 PM

Yup

Thanks.

When I moved here (1979) from back east, the thing I missed the most was the thunderstorms. Did not miss the winters. But those thunderstorms when you can actually feel and smell them coming. That change in ozone. And yes the noise. Summer here is rather boring without them.

Those photos are awesome! The second one in the last post is very spooky and very beautiful. Thanks for those.
