Lost Love Songs

I've come to realize that I seem to gravitate to this type of song (not sure why since I have a beautiful, loving wife). Here are some of my favorites:

Taxi - Harry Chapin
If I lLaugh and Wild World - Cat Stevens
Everything I Own - David Gates
More than a Feeling - Boston
Suite Judy Blue Eyes - Stephen Stills
Wish You were Here - Pink Floyd

Any that you like to play?

So many to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites to play in that category:

Coast - Eliza Gilkyson
Sylvia Hotel - Cheryl Wheeler
Arrow - Cheryl Wheeler
When She's Gone - Mary Chapin Carpenter
The First Song - Cosy Sheridan

Best,
Jayne

a couple on my favorites list lately are Greg Allmans 'Please call home' , and John Morelands "You don't care for me enough to cry'

Here's the ultimate. If you want to look out and see half the audience reaching for hankies, play this.

"The Last Nail"
If you've never heard it and you probably never had...it's well worth your time... nice visuals as well.
Great, great love song! Fogelberg all day long:)

I really like a Jackson Browne tune called Your Bright Baby Blues.

It's about the loss of something, I'm not sure exactly what, but is sure has that vibe--but also a spark of hope at the end.

Another sad, sober tune....

I love Dylan’s early lost love songs:

Boots of Spanish Leather
Girl From the North Country
Tomorrow is a Long Time
Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright

Amen to these!

I recently rediscovered an old Irish folk song called "Spancil Hill" (turns out it's a true story). Start with the Wolfetones version.

Haven't thought of that one in a looong time. Thanks.

Here's a nice acoustic version I found.

Here's the greatest lost love song of all time.

The Beatles "Yesterday" is one of my favorite songs to play, one of the greatest lost love songs ever IMO.
A couple other favorites:
It's Been a Good Year for the Roses - Elvis Costello version
The Dance - Garth Brooks
He Stopped Loving Her Today - George Jones version

This might be one of the oldest, date to early 19th century.
