Mary Chapin Carpenter Interview/Mini Concert

Here is an interview and mini concert with Mary Chapin Carpenter talking a bit about her latest CD which celebrates 30 years of being a touring singer songwriter. She sings three songs using two of her guitars - the jumbo Greven and what looks to be a Huss & Dalton OM. Well written songs and solid guitar playing on nice guitars. Works for me. :) I hope that you enjoy it.

Best,
Jayne

She's really good, and her music continues to stand the test of time. She lives down the road from me in Western Albemarle County (outside Charlottesville) and about 30 minutes from the Huss & Dalton shop....

I hadn't seen this, so thanks.

I'm a huge fan.
Her writing is concise yet full, clever and accessible.
I often say, with great envy... "Gee, why didn't I think of that?"
Her humble way makes it look easy, yet she knows how to take charge and command the stage.

Her "Stones in the Road" album is among my top ten alongside Rodney Crowells "Houston Kid" and The Beatles White Album.

I often play two of her songs--
"What if We Went to Italy"
"Outside Looking In"

Again, thank you Jayne.

She's awesome! ...lyrics and voice so wonderful; and her pickin' is lovely. That ol' maple Greven she's been playin' forever is one of THE best sounding guitars ever; full, thick, articulate and balanced = YUMMY!

Thank you for sharing this!

Hi Jayne,

Thank you for this! I just watched the video and enjoyed it thoroughly. So did my wife.

I cannot help really liking Mary Chapin Carpenter a great deal. I saw her play live with her band a few years ago in Ithaca, NY and that was a great show. She had just come back from 2007 health problems after a pulmonary embolism. She was so gracious and so real.

I just ordered her newest CD.

Thanks for this little moment of discovery!

- Glenn
