--------------------------------------------------- Fitting the neck and bridge. That fretboard and rosette look soooo nice together! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4195/...f262cb_o_d.jpg And here she is, "in the white" as Ryan calls it. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4262/...776913_o_d.jpg Our first glimpse of the Alessi tuning machines on the peghead. Mmmmm! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4244/...3149b7_o_d.jpg Scruptious! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4258/...145d6b_o_d.jpg Not sure but I think these are the last pics we will see for a while. This beauty is off to get her gloss finish. Gonna be a while. I Kinnairdly wait! |
Yep she came together real nicely Dennis, Steve, and Ryan. You guys really worked together to come up with a vision and execution. Oh, Larry also, sorry. I can't wait for this to be back from finish and it hasn't even left yet!!! Fantastic, just wonder if we could have dressed up the fretboard a little more? :D

Yes, we could have dressed up the fretboard further, but I don't think Larry (Robinson) would have taken kindly to that suggestion! ;) Steve |
This guitar just blows me away every time I see it - - -
Dennis, as it's keeper, you are a fortunate man. |

Here are a couple shots of the burst. Mmmmmm! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4328/...6a4c43_o_d.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4301/...e447bb_o_d.jpg More pics when I get them. |
I didn't know or had forgotten that you were doing a burst. Has this been the plan all along???? I like it.
|
The colorful purflings go great with the burst...
|
Gorgeous guitar Dennis! I love bursts. Odd to think that as much as i like them, I currently don't have a one. I love the way yours is turning out. And yes that purfling rocks
|
It's coming...it's coming....
Steve |
Nice Nice Nice...
|
Appreciate the affirmation on the burst Tom, Bob, Mike and Dave.
Steve and I had quite a bit of back and forth on the burst. I had it on my list from the beginning but left the final decision until after the first pics of the top under finish. Even though this Alpine Italian top is gorgeous by itself we felt a burst would provide some punch to the purfling and rosette. In the end, I think we were right. |
Neck burst ...
Hoping to better match the neck with the Madi at the heel we decided to go with a slight burst on the neck. This photo shows the work in progress. Steve intends to hit the heel area with one more shot and then finish off with a satin finish. This is looking so nice. I am truly chomping at the bit. The blueish color is purely a reflection off the Wenge.
I think there is one more surprise for you folks when she is finished but I'll wait for the reveal. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4293/...fb8429_o_d.jpg |
Wow Dennis, what a stunning guitar that I know will find a good home with your others. I am pretty new to this site but have seen you elsewhere, and now am enjoying watching your latest come together. Thank you for sharing the experience.
|
I can't add much more to the remarks about this stunning guitar. This is an absolutely breath-taking guitar that Steve and Ryan are preparing for you Dennis. Being an extremely fortunate owner of a Steve Kinnaird guitar, I can be sure of the incredible music this will make. Congratulations Dennis on your build.

Dennis...Is the wait getting to you yet?
