Thanks Pete! I am over the moon on this one!

Awesome craftsmanship. Well done!
Question: that arch w the bridge pins... do they match the arch that the rosette makes or would that be too severe? I just couldn't tell from that last pic.

Thanks Brandon!

At 20,000 plus thread views, I'd say you have captured the attention of a few folks! :D

I for one, am looking forward to the next installment of "Kinnairdly Wait"

No problem sleeping ... I just dream about how schweeet she will sing. Thanks Michael!

Fitting the neck and bridge. That fretboard and rosette look soooo nice together!

And here she is, "in the white" as Ryan calls it.

Our first glimpse of the Alessi tuning machines on the peghead. Mmmmm!

Scruptious!

Not sure but I think these are the last pics we will see for a while. This beauty is off to get her gloss finish. Gonna be a while. I Kinnairdly wait!

TomB'sox 06-02-2017 07:04 PM

Yep she came together real nicely Dennis, Steve, and Ryan. You guys really worked together to come up with a vision and execution. Oh, Larry also, sorry. I can't wait for this to be back from finish and it hasn't even left yet!!! Fantastic, just wonder if we could have dressed up the fretboard a little more? :D

Gotta love a guitar that smiles

Thanks again, guys, and thanks to you for following along Tom.
Yes, we could have dressed up the fretboard further, but I don't think Larry (Robinson) would have taken kindly to that suggestion! ;)

I couldn't agree more. Waiting has become increasingly difficult. The guys are attending the GAL (Guild of American Luthiers) convention this week but should receive my guitar back the following week and begin final setup.

TomB'sox 07-14-2017 04:42 PM

I didn't know or had forgotten that you were doing a burst. Has this been the plan all along???? I like it.

iim7V7IM7 07-14-2017 04:56 PM

The colorful purflings go great with the burst...

invguy921 07-14-2017 09:49 PM

Gorgeous guitar Dennis! I love bursts. Odd to think that as much as i like them, I currently don't have a one. I love the way yours is turning out. And yes that purfling rocks

Steve Kinnaird 07-14-2017 10:05 PM

It's coming...it's coming....

Steve

Diamondave 07-14-2017 10:10 PM

Nice Nice Nice...

cigarfan 07-15-2017 04:54 AM

Appreciate the affirmation on the burst Tom, Bob, Mike and Dave.

Steve and I had quite a bit of back and forth on the burst. I had it on my list from the beginning but left the final decision until after the first pics of the top under finish. Even though this Alpine Italian top is gorgeous by itself we felt a burst would provide some punch to the purfling and rosette. In the end, I think we were right.

cigarfan 07-16-2017 06:44 AM

Neck burst ...

Hoping to better match the neck with the Madi at the heel we decided to go with a slight burst on the neck. This photo shows the work in progress. Steve intends to hit the heel area with one more shot and then finish off with a satin finish. This is looking so nice. I am truly chomping at the bit. The blueish color is purely a reflection off the Wenge.

I think there is one more surprise for you folks when she is finished but I'll wait for the reveal.

Wow Dennis, what a stunning guitar that I know will find a good home with your others. I am pretty new to this site but have seen you elsewhere, and now am enjoying watching your latest come together. Thank you for sharing the experience.

DenverSteve 07-19-2017 04:25 PM

I can't add much more to the remarks about this stunning guitar. This is an absolutely breath-taking guitar that Steve and Ryan are preparing for you Dennis. Being an extremely fortunate owner of a Steve Kinnaird guitar, I can be sure of the incredible music this will make. Congratulations Dennis on your build.

Godfather 08-03-2017 05:51 AM

Dennis...Is the wait getting to you yet?
:D
