This afternoon I ordered a lap steel guitar. It's a Morrell Music Plus series. It should ship out next week. It's my first lap steel, made in the USA for $149. I can't wait. Does anybody play lap steel guitar on the forum?

I used to play a bunch, but there's not enough time in the day for all my interests.

When I first retired I ran a website devoted to making custom top end lap steels and made almost 100 custom 6. 7, and 8 string laps before I concentrated my efforts in other directions.

If you're interested in building your own you can still find some free downloadable pdfs of full size plans for a couple of styles of laps there.

I play some. One tip: decide on one specific tuning and stick with it for at least a year.
