'Bourrée in Em' by J.S. Bach on a Collings 0002H
Hi All,
Here's the 2nd video of a three video series shot all in the same location and on the same guitar. Love this tune! Thanks for watching. -Nick |
Bach is the master of countrapuntal writing. And it's always a treat to listen to a fine arrangement of one of his works. Great performance, Nick. I particularly like the bass line.

Love that piece also. Great playing and sound

Very nice! How many Bourrees did he write? I used to play a "Bourree" on keys, but it was a different one. Super difficult in my book! Great playing on guitar!

It's a type of French dance. This one was originally composed for lute. Another (transcribed as BWV 1006A but originally for violin) is from Partita No.3. There are two in the Cello Suites and others, as you noted, for keyboard: I know of two in the French Suites and one in the English Suite. The four Orchestral Suites have one each as well. And I'm sure there are more still. |
