Which Vocal Preamp for Bose S1 Pro

I believe for me to get the most volume out of my Bose S1 Pro I'm going to have to preamp my guitar and vocals. I really like my Baggs Para DI for my guitar, but I'm having a hard time picking something for vocals. I know I could just use a small mixer, but I'd like to have something more durable like a pedal. I've looked at the TC Helicon mic preamps and they're geared mostly for effects. The EAE mixers are nice but pricy. I'd like to spend around $200 or less.

TC Mic Mechanic 2 is currently $20 lower priced than normal. Looks to check a few boxes based on what you're after.

Have you thought about getting a phantom power box and using a condenser mic?
I find that when I do that with mine I notice a dramatic increase in volume when using my blue 300 with power than when I use a Sure SM58.

I really like my Beta 58 and want to keep using it especially because of how reliable it is. And for 99% of my venues I really don't need any more volume, but I just picked up a new venue that is pretty big and I'll need to get every bit of headroom I can out of the Bose for that one. I have other setups that are more powerful, but the S1 is the lightest and easiest setup I've got.

I just purchased a TC Helicon Perform VG for my S1 Pro. All the dials close at hand. I use a power cell to power it and use the guitar out to feed my Optima Air, which I also use a power cell for power.

I use the “Tone” in default setting and a little reverb and little delay.

Simple box to set and leave alone. Just adjust levels as needed.

I looked at all of these on the Sweetwater site and they are all operated off Phantom Power, no option for batteries. Unfortunately the S1Pro doesn't have phantom power.

Thanks Marty, I think I've decided to go with the TC Helicon Mic Mechanic. It has most of those same features, but it adds a little more as well. I believe it'll give me what I'm looking for.

How did the Mic Mechanic work out, Goat Mick?

Why don't you change mic?

What are you using?

TC's Voicetone T1 is my secret weapon.. if I could only bring 1 pedal...this would the the one.

Unfortunately the Mic Mechanic is still slowly making its way here on a slow boat from China. But on the up side I did play the gig without it and had plenty of volume to cover the room. I’m still gonna get the Mic Mechanic when it finally makes it here though.

Well, glad it went okay but looking forward to hearing how it goes with the Mic Mechanic when it eventually gets to you.

There is a small gain button on the side...so plenty of volume... I would say this is probably similar to the Mechanic just no pitch correction... It also powers my neumann KMS 105 which requires 48v phantom power.. This was a surprise as I didn't see anything about phantom power..

This pedal produces a super rich tone that, in my opinion, works great with my voice. I can sing high and low and the lows are clear. Clarity on the lows for vox can be tough to achieve through a lot of systems.
