Early Emerald website
I thought this Early Emerald website was interesting and maybe you do too.
X10, X20 and X30 can be found by selecting The Guitars link in the upper left hand corner https://web.archive.org/web/20020205...com/index2.htm |
A lot has changed in the past 17 years. ;)

CF and composites have come a very long way since then, and Emerald is an absolute leader. I love what dreams Alistair and Co. are building- for themselves and for those using these tools to create music.
What vision! |
I like the hype. It's sort of like me saying "Never before has there been a better, smarter, classier Blythin." Evan. Shades of Norman Maier, "Advertisements For Myself."
On the old Carbon Fiber Forum there were some early photos of Alistair's work with kids toys and, if I remember right, a telephone booth. Fun stuff. |

I've broken bread with Alistair, but never stood close enough to remember it well.

Seriously, I love watching the evolution. I remember being intrigued when Emerald first started getting some attention - but (for me) the aesthetics were a little clumsy, and not especially attractive.
Fast forward to today. My X20 is a great, great guitar. It looks and sounds amazing. It's replaced my 1963 Martin as my go-to guitar. That took some doing. I love my Martin, but for the first time in nearly 35 years, I'm beginning to question why I'm keeping it. My hat's off to Alistair and his crew for pursuing, and realizing, their vision. |
My 2008 X10 Nylon String Guitar looks almost exactly like the X10 in the photo, except that it has 24 frets, and the next dimensions are slightly different.
|
I remember looking at their site when it looked like that and wanting to try one back in the day

Nice, fluid communications right there. A prediction, a reality forthcoming. Doesn't get much better.
