Is the classical world accepting CF violins, cellos.....?

The culture tends to be strict about tradition and particular sound profiles. I don't know of a concert violin soloist using carbon; perhaps it has entered the string sections of orchestras.

A few viola players...so it's a start and it is only January

You can find Yo-Yo Ma or Josephine van Lier on videos playing their cellos. I'm not sure the cellos were given to them or not though.

Geoffrey Castle plays a very unique looking violin. From its design it looks like a carbon fiber with wood laminate over the surfaces. It sounds fantastic in concert or is it the artist.

From the luis and clark website - how this translates to classical world acceptance, of that I'm not sure, but it's more than a foothold probably.

Most in that group are in serious ensembles, if not all (I did not read all the bios). One thing, the two CF violin makers I've checked (this luisandclark and another Canada based one) are lower cost relative to typical pro level violins.

I think there are examples of other CF instruments (like guitars) that fall into the category of being lower priced than comparable traditional instruments. It's probably most obvious with the violin family.

My brother was 2nd clarinet in Canadas youth orchestra back in the day. The brother of the 1st clarinet had a $22,000 violin. I don't know too much about classical strings, except $10, 000 being a starting point for more refined offerings.
