String Changes on Taylor V-Class 12 String?
To anyone who has a V-class Taylor 12 or any other 12-string with a 6-pin bridge - can you give any hints or tricks as to how to seat the strings in the bridge? This is a little unusual and I’ve never dealt with an instrument quite like this so if anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks in advance for any help any of you can provide.

you could probably stick the pairs onto some scotch tape at the final width, with the ball ends flat against each other. then treat them like 1 string. A bit of a hassle...

Now reach inside to feel, or use a mirror to see how they are oriented from the factory. Do what they did. Never assume you know how something went together. Look at it before you take it apart. Further, as the hole is sized for one pin, I’d think you put the thinner string in first so that you can get the other ball end into the hole. Then even them up once both ball ends are inside the guitar. Edit: I am surprised that Taylor doesn’t have a video up yet for this procedure. |
