Hello Steve, the abalone is 3/8" wide with 1/16" wide koa border.

I really like this look! Somehow not using purfling to border the abalone or the koa strips gives it a more painterly look - or maybe it's just unusual abalone, I don't know, but it's very sweet - seductively beautiful.

Thanks SJ, this has always been a part of my look, somewhat minimalist (unless a customer requests otherwise), wood on wood, with very little in the way of purfling lines.
