NGD - Southern Jumbo
This pretty thing was delivered today. Always felt the Southern Jumbos were some of the best looking guitars out there. Helps that it sounds awesome too. A nice companion to my 000-28.

Wow! Congratulations. It is a beauty.

Now that’s just about as pretty as a guitar gets. You’re gonna love that sound - I have a Custom Shop 60s J45, basically a plainer version of yours.
Enjoy that beauty! |
Sweet! What a beauty!

Great looking guitar. Very hard to beat a Gibson at the sunburst game!
Play it in good health :) |
Good choice. Enjoy!

Congrats Kitten Clock. I was looking into a J45 for the past month or so. Then I stumbled upon the video from Alamo Guitars comparing a J45 standard to a Southern Jumbo.
At the end the reviewer says "ya get a lot for the extra $300". It is a blingalicious J45 to be sure. So here I sit, like you today, opening the box to my new Southern Jumbo. I love it!!!! They are a little hard to find right now. But I am thrilled to be playing it tonight. You made a good choice. Enjoy it. |
Very nice! I want one!

KittenClock and Sponserv have lovely new members of their families. Gives me a warm feeling. So happy for you both.
When I bought my J-45 I wasn’t even aware of the Southern Jumbo. Alamo Music’s video made me aware after I had the J-45. Had I known I might have cracked lose the extra funds — but as it is, I love my J-45. |
I've had mine for a little over two years and it just keeps getting better. I did, however replace the rather lame (and in an s-ton of backlash) Grovers with 21:1 Waverlys, and even though it was supposed to come with a bone saddle, mine was TusQ, which I discovered when I intonated it. Replaced it with a new custom intonated bone saddle and that made a huge difference - both the bone and especially the intonation.

Classic looks there! Play it in good health.
