Secondary/monitoring speaker ?

Hey all, I use a Fishman Loudbox-Mini when I’m playing live with my acoustic guitar. I typically have the amp positioned somewhere behind me so I can hear myself playing.

But I prefer the amp in front of me facing the audience. I can’t hear myself when I have it setup this way.

Is there a decent and affordable secondary speaker I can connect to the Fishman Loudbox? So I can hear/monitor myself playing.

I appreciate the help! Thanks!

Ralf

My buddy has one of these.

Worked good for his monitor in a band setting with drums, ac. guitar, elect. guitar, and bass. We ran his elec. guitar monitor mix through it.

That’s awesome, I just looked it up and seems like a pretty good and fairly inexpensive option.

I’m assuming I connect the this unit to the 1/4” input of the Loudbox. But according to Fishman the Loudbox outputs mono signal through the 1/4 and 1/8 if that matters.

Line out with XLR from back of amp into the Kustom monitor.

I bought one of those Kustom monitors, it's collecting dust. You would be better off using your Mini as a monitor and running a 12" powered speaker as the main off of the "DI Out" that's on the back of the Mini. This past Eclipse I camped out with a solar panel, battery bank, inverter, Loudbox Mini and Harbinger V2112. The Harbinger comes on sale a lot of the time for about 50 bucks more than the Kustom and it sounds a heck of a lot better and gives you many more options. It can also be used as a floor monitor. If it wasn't so much of a PIA I'd post a picture of my Eclipse camp with the Mini and Harbinger.

Interesting setup, but the Harbinger is quite large for my setup. I liking a small compact setup, the Loudbox is ideal size for my type of playing.

One thing that makes the Kustom monitor better is this adapter that allows it to be mic stand mounted

I have no experience with the Kustom.
But it sure is a good price point.

Checked the specs and posted photo below.
Just be sure if you do buy..
That you have proper cable.

It appears the Loudbox has a XLR DI OUT and the Kustom has 1/4" line in...

I have one of those Kustom monitors. As long as your stage volume isn't at Helter Skelter level its fine. It's very handy. It's a powered speaker so it can have alot of other uses.

According to the poster above, I can connect the XLR DI OUT from the Loudbox to the XLR THRU output of the Kustom. Or unless I’m suppose to use an XLR to 1/4” TRS or 1/8” TRS. So now I’m unsure which method.

I doubt I’d be cranking up the volume like that. I just need to be able to hear myself play.

I think that the Behringer B205D is awesome as a small monitor. I've even used one in a very small pub as a main - plugged my condenser vocal mic (the speaker supplies phantom power) and my guitar into it and away I went.

Nice, but price is out of range unless found preowned. It does have a lot of inputs, I’m wondering which input to plug into from the Loudbox.

Raf702 01-04-2018 10:03 AM

The Kustom manual says the THRU Input is an XLR to pass a signal from the mic to a mixer or a powered speaker.

So I’m assuming I’d be plugging into the Kustom 1/4” line input to the XLR D.I. Output on the Loudbox.

Check out the Roland CM-30 cube monitor. Mic stand mountable or set on a table at ear level. Actually I use mine as a PA for small venues.

YamahaGuy 01-04-2018 10:20 AM

The 1/4" input is balanced, so a cable like this

https://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSHXS...ABEgKcL_D_BwE=

would do the trick. My buddy's would not run a mic straight into it, we always ran out of a little mixer into the 1/4" jack.
