Leveling frets where neck meets body (hump)
 

Hi - The neck/fingerboard on my acoustic is very straight except on the bass side where the neck meets the body at the 14th fret, there is a small hump and uneveness in the fingerboard around frets 14, 15, 16. Is there any special technique to level the higher frets where the hump is ?

depends on how big the hump is.

if it's only 1 mm or less use a flat file laid on top of the frets and flie the high ones down, finish with wet & dry then re crown.

if it's more than that then you either need to reset the neck or else pull the frets, sand the fretboard flat recut the fret slots if necessary and then refret.

or just play cowboy chords.

You could do the quick fix of just leveling the high frets, or pull all the frets and level the board, then refret.

Personally, I would tape off the board, mark the frets, and level 'em all down the same height. Recrown them, then polish 'em all up.
