Try To Remember - from the Fantasticks
 

When I was very small, my Gramps (called him Baba) would attempt to sing this song. Like my Dad, he admittedly couldn't "carry a tune in a wheelbarrow" but God love him for trying. He was in WWI and lived quite a life - he passed in '69 but I still think about him every day. He lived with us and was a huge part of my early life.

A few days ago, a dear friend from high school posted that she had brought her Mom home on hospice, and while going through some of her late Father's music books, came across this song. It seemed to give her Mom some comfort......so I learned and recorded it for her this morning.

A simple tune - done with my newly finished Solista project guitar.

Very nice! You've got a great voice for this song.

The "thespian club" (or whatever it was called) did that musical way back when I was in HS (probably around '65). The club had some remarkably good performers, based on my small town frame of reference, anyway, and it made a big impression on me. This made me think about that performance and time. Thanks.
