Actually Bob, they call it Walnut even though it’s not a true Walnut, but that’s only part of the name, so you’re going to have to be more specific to claim Steve’s dancing prize.

Sorry Rye, not correct.

Butternut....

Stevied63 04-04-2018 11:16 AM

Is it Imbuia?

Sheesh..making me get pacific huh?

Better not quit my day job just yet, then!

cigarfan 04-04-2018 11:43 AM

I will guess Ash.

nacluth 04-04-2018 11:55 AM

Umm...no, no, sorry Bob, and no. I have seen a picture of a completed guitar of this wood in the bowels of the interwebs, but have never seen one in the flesh nor heard of anyone who has.

Also, think down under for yesterday’s shot.

TomB'sox 04-04-2018 02:43 PM

Australian walnut?

nacluth 04-04-2018 02:54 PM

Tom, I’m declaring you the winner to save confusion. The wood is typically sold as Queensland Walnut. In the veneer world it seems to trade more often as the generic Australian Walnut. Not a true walnut (Juglans genus), but the wood looks a lot like US Black walnut.

Steve is ready to dance at your wedding at your behest or I’ll make you a great deal on this wood. Think of your prize package and let us know. ;)

Well Kathy and I plan to get married in the Caribbean so I will let Steve decide if he wants to do that or have me buy wood?

nacluth 04-04-2018 03:59 PM

He said, “Caribbean baby!”

Well you really deserve the win on this one, so guess what? Yes, that's right, you can come to the wedding and Steve and you can do a little dancing together!!! How's that for generosity?

Steve Kinnaird 04-06-2018 08:15 AM

We'll come up with something... That's the fun part of this, eh?

Steve

I assume it's headed to the show?

nacluth 04-06-2018 05:15 PM

No it’s headed to YourPerfectGuitar.com. It’s definitely pretty enough to be a great show guitar, but it will be available to the public soon.

Thinking we might see wood replacing pearl. Beautiful marquetry, while less flashy, is crazy beautiful!

Birthday alert...

I saw on FB that Steve had a Birthday. I hope it was a fun filled extravaganza that is still ongoing...

I have reached the age where I feel a few weeks of celebrating seem perfectly appropriate!

Woohoo.

Man, these guitars are staggering in their beauty! And of course they will sound even better than they look. ( I know that seems difficult, but that is what Steve and Ryan do!)

Carry on gentlemen and have FUN!!!

Paul
