Trading electric for acoustic
 

I've had a Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster for about a year and a half. Bought it thinking I'd start or join an indie rock band. I'm primarily a folk singer/songwriter and I play a Martin acoustic, and my indie rock plans never quite panned out.

I've only gone deeper into the folk/country side of music, and I found a Harmony H165 on craigslist. I've been thinking about trading my jazzmaster for the harmony since it's just been sitting in a corner for the majority of the time I've owned it. Is this a good idea? I already have a Telecaster that can serve any electric needs I have. Good trade? bad trade?

Do it! Or maybe get a mando or banjo....

Do it. As long as you've got one electric, you'll be good.

I'd rather sell/trade the Squier for a Yamaha FG720S/730S over an old Harmony that may have issues the will cost $$$ to fix, most expensive being a neck reset.

Yeah I'm definitely not going for the Harmony if it has issues like that. Any tips on a quick way to tell if it needs a neck reset?

Measure from the top of the guitar to the bass e string. If it is much less than 1/2 inch it may have issues. Go to frets.com, they have tons of information on all sorts of things, this included.
