Default What do the model #'s mean? i.e. NS42-CE

I know that the "NS" probably means "Nylon Series", but what does "CE" mean?

It would be nice if Taylor would provide a comparison feature on their web site, so that you could compare the differences between each model.

C stands for cutaway and E stands for electronics. The four refers to the type of wood used and the 2 refers to the body size. So an NS 42CE is a guitar made of sitka spruce and ovangkol, of grand concert size with a cutaway and a pickup system.

If it's any help, here's a link to a pdf that I put on my website about the Taylor numbering system.

It is due to change for guitars that are now going into production as they've revamped their ranges. Here's some information from the Winter NAMM show that elaborates on their plans.

My understanding is NS refers to "Nylon String" so NS= Nylon String 4 refers to 400 series woods 2 refers to specific body size , CE refers to "cutaway w/ electronics"
