Smile JAMES GOODALL Custom Jumbo Baritone Guitar - MINT

Experience the Power & Focus of this gorgeous JAMES GOODALL Custom Jumbo-Baritone Guitar

“This particular Jumbo Baritone is an awesome sound canon.” said James Goodall, builder and luthier. Can you think of a preferred builder for a jumbo baritone?

Master Grade, highly figured, Bear Claw Spruce Top with AAA Indian Rosewood Back & Sides. This baritone beauty is a 2005 RJBC model hand-crafted in Hawaii.

Jumbo baritone cutaway acoustic crafted in 2005 in Like New condition! Really, this fine instrument has been hardly played in its 12 years. A true closet queen! I have enjoyed this for the last 4 months now, but I realized recently that I really only need two of my steel string guitars and will one day add a concert classical (specific trade interest).

Really, it had Medium strings on it when I bought it and they looked 10 years old! I was told by previous owner that he never changed strings on this baritone. So I did! It now has “Heavy” strings (14 to 59 gauge). "Baritone strings" are really way too heavy and Medium strings do not do this fine instrument justice!

This is a true jumbo-sized guitar with a brilliant and balanced clarity. James’ affection for the jumbo began many years ago when he first chose to build one. This Jumbo Baritone can be used for soloing, vocal accompaniment, or even fingerstyle performances. My son stopped in one day while I was playing, and he said; “Dad, that is the LOUDest guitar I have ever heard!”

It is truly one of the finest sounding acoustic guitars James Goodall has ever crafted. This hand-crafted work-of-art has the depth of a grand piano in a large concert hall. There is power, awesome sustain, definition, and separation, as well as tonal clarity throughout the entire tonal range.

This Jumbo Baritone Cutaway Guitar is in new, original condition. The prior owner custom ordered this guitar when James Goodall and his family were still crafting these marvelous guitars in Hawaii.

From the prior owner. “I am the original and sole owner and have kept this guitar in its case in a humidity-controlled room for its entire life. I have thoroughly searched this guitar over and there are no issues whatsoever ... no dings, dents, warping, or scratches. It is the closest thing to a “new” custom guitar without the inflated price tag from a music dealer. Recent personal research with three Goodall Dealers revealed that if you were to order this guitar today, with all its custom features, it would cost in the neighborhood of $8,900. I promise you, baritone acoustic guitars don’t get much better than this baritone which embodies the following features:

NEW, ORIGINAL CONDITION --- James Goodall RJBC Jumbo Baritone Cutaway Acoustic Features:
- Master Grade Highly-Figured Bear Claw Spruce Top
- AAA East Indian Rosewood Sides and Back
- Ebony Fretboard with Mother of Pearl Diamond Fretboard Inlays
- Ebony Bridge & Ebony Bridge Pins
- Ebony binding on bridge, headstock and fretboard
- Curly Maple Binding (purfling) around face, sides and back
- 1.75” Nut Width
- 2.25" String Spacing at Bridge
- 28" Scale Length (true Baritone)
- Mahogany Satin Neck
- Abalone Pearl Rosette
- Abalone Top and Headstock Trim
- Gotoh 510 Tuners with Black Ebony Buttons (tight control)
- Original Deluxe Hardshell Case AND Goodall Cleaning Cloth
- Upper Bout 12 1/2"
- Waist 10 1/4"
- Lower Bout 17”
- Depth of Sound Box 4 7/16"
- Guitar Length Overall 43"
- Weight 5 1/4 lbs (very light considering the jumbo-baritone size)

Playability: Plays like a dream, smooth and easy, all the way up and down the neck. Has been set-up with low action and plays cleanly. The frets show absolutely no wear.

Asking $old OBO in Like New condition with $8,200 build cost today (have letter from Goodall). Partial trades considered would be an amazing 00 short-scale 12-fret or a concert classical or an extremely high-end cross-over. I’m downsizing to 2 steel-string guitars, so I will soon be letting go of some others soon. Thanks, JohnnyD

Beautiful guitar at a great price. Wish I had the funds to swing this right now - some of my favorite baritones have been Goodalls. Good luck with your sale!

Wink Jumbo with comfort!

Thanks Alan, send me a PM on your interest!

BTW, if you play this over the right knee it is very manageable. Jumbos are narrower than dreads, for sure.

Wink Inquiries regarding the tone?

If I could get Al to play mine, it should sound at least this good (I believe mine is a bit more full sounding):

Same tonewood combo on this one; Sitka/Rosewood. Mine has the bear-claw top and cutaway. Thx

Thank you very much for your nice comment. I'm on the fence with this one. I listened to my son playing it the other day and, from across the room, it was quite a sound to behold!

Wink FINAL Price reduction

I have an offer a bit lower than I would like, but I will go for it if nobody speaks up today or tomorrow.

Current pricing is less than 50% of build price for a like new, MINT baritone. This guitar was un-played for 10 years, but I have had some time with it in the last few months. Tone is OPEN and HUGE! Thx, JD
