Default FS: 2011 Omega Mini Jumbo Baritone Brazilian/Carpathian Lion Inlay Venetian Cutaway

First I want to say that I absolutely love this Baritone and its a very very special instrument. If I was to have one Baritone, this would be it. If I had the money, I'd keep it. So sadly, this one has to go.

This is Kevin Gallagher's last guitar made before he died. This baritone has an extremely special inlay that was made to benefit an Orphanage in Africa. Kevin built a guitar for a mission trip there used with all African woods (except the top) and made a special inlay to represent the country. Each inlay he would sell after, he would donate to the Orphanage. Very special to my heart. Unfortunately, this was the only Lion inlay he did on an Omega post Africa trip. The inlay itself is $2,000. This means that this is the only Omega with a Lion inlay that's available.

The baritone is a work of art, a thing of beauty, and it has some thunderous bass. It has a 28 inch scale and is tuned from B to B. The baritone is Brazilian back and sides with a Carpathian Top. it has beautiful wood selections throughout the whole guitar.

Cocobolo binding with Cocobolo bound fretboard. Cocobolo bound sound hole and Cocobolo Omega sign. The rosette is my favorite rosette of all time. It has the hint of Cocobolo but then made of a beautiful piece of macassar ebony:

The front veneer is macassar ebony as well to match the rosette:

and the real beautiful thing about this is it has a 5 piece neck, but with macassar ebony sides with cocobolo pieces to tie in the binding and rosette:

and the whole baritone guitar:

Kevin died after making the body and inlaying the neck. After his death, Don Sharp was generous to help me with this project. Don did an outstanding job with is and it truly is one of the more beautifully appointed guitars I've had a pleasure to commission. Aesthetically, its probably my favorite. And the tone is unreal. Bassy, deep, resonant, the list goes on and on.

The nut is 1 13/16th and the build thread can be found here:
http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=153163

I've had the guitar for a year and a half and again, if I was to have one baritone, this would be it. But unfortunately a small body guitar has my name on it and I can't keep them all!

I will take better pics when the sun comes out, but for now, a lot of pics can be found in the build thread.

The baritone is really flawless everywhere except for the back. I'll get to that below. Fit and Finish were done by Joe White and is amazing. Don made a new bridge design and a D shaped neck. We thought wider would be great for the bigger strings and it turned out amazing! Kevin did some experimental bracing making the lighter and I believe you can really hear it!

The Brazilian back had some cracking in it. not a little, but quite a lot. But everything has been stabilized and fixed. So its purely cosmetic.

As for pricing.... This was from Kevin when I was commissioning:

MJ Style Guitar $6500.00
Brazilian Rosewood B/S $2000.00
Carpathian Top $500
Cocobolo Binding $50
5 Piece Laminated neck $500
Venetian Cutaway $400.00
Bound Fingerboard and Headstock $200
Lion Of Judah Inlay $2000.00

Total: $12,150.00

So take away the brazilian upcharge since there is cracking, but fixed and stabilzed, then you are at $10,150

Asking $8150 or best offer! Make me an offer and we will make it work!

Will consider partial trades and cash. If you are interested in speaking about the guitar, pm me and I'll give you a call. I can work on the price and it is negotiable.

This is the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. My wife is leaving for a mission trip to Africa next week. So wonderful to see so much love and dedication to a good cause, realized perfectly. Wow.

wow. wow. wow. still the most beautiful inlay i've seen. the artistry is amazing. there's plenty of fancy inlay work out there but the lion of judah inlay has an amazing realism to it. i wish there was something i could offer in trade that comes close to what your omega is worth... gorgeous guitar.
