Default Seagull guitar date of manufacture link

This link: http://www.guitardating.com/godin.php
... provides a way to quickly and acurately determine the year, month, week and day that your Seagull guitar was made .... provided it has an 8-digit serial number stamped into the back of the headstock. Newer Seagulls have a longer (12-digit??) number printed on the blue oval shaped label in the sound hole. These serial numbers won't work in the link and they actually have nothing to do with date of manufacture anyway.

PS: It works with other makes and models too. Click on the "date your guitar" button for Martin, Takemine and/or Taylor information.

So the only way to find out date of manufacture if it is a 12 digit number is to email Godin/Seagull? What a bummer. I wonder why they didn't have a code that can be used on the fly like the way Taylor has their serial numbers.

Yeah, it works for my 8 digit Seagull S6 CW model but not the Peppino and Artist Studio that have 12 digits. I emailed them so I have to wait and see.
