PRICE DROP - Goodall KOA Standard
Well, I just ordered a pedal steel so $3,500.00 or make an offer.
Just thought I'd let you all know I still have this: Someone asked for sound samples so I threw something up on Youtube :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HH-_YeLQDvo BTW they were done with my cheapo cheapo camcorder so there's a lot of compression. If anyone is seriously interested I'll put up a better recording. As much as it pains me it’s time to let go of my Goodall Standard (moving on to a different Goodall so all is not lost). Sitka Spruce top with the most three-dimensional Koa back and sides that I’ve ever gazed upon and I’ve been playing for 40 years (ouch). I have to make sure I don’t look down when I play or I forget where and who I am. I bought it from Mandolin Brothers in 2002 and have taken very good care of it. As expected from any Goodall it looks and sounds fantastic. Also includes an I-Beam pickup. It has a few minor dings and scratches but far less than most 13 year old guitars. Realistically it’s in Exc condition. I’ve emailed Goodall for more details and got a reply from Jean: "Goodall Guitars Koa Standard model/serial number KS1670 was completed on 4-9-99 it's fine features include: grade AAA curly koa back and sides Master grade Sitka spruce top Premium paua shell rosette and slotted fretboard inlays chrome Schaller tuners birds eye Maple body & headstock binding The rest is Ebony. NEW INFO FROM JEAN GOODALL: I sent her a picture of the guitar in question along with a pic of the Grand Concert I just bought. Bold is obviously mine Hi Peter, After 2000 we added more grades of Koa and restructured the grading. The Koa Standard guitar below is stunning and I would upgrade the guitar to AAAA curly koa so to rebuild at 2010 price would be $7,700.00. Jean Goodall UPDATE: Brought it in to a well known shop in Staten Island (MB). They commented on how nice the KOA is and what great condition it's in and wanted to know why in the world I would sell it and said I should ask $4k for it. $3,900.00 or best REASONABLE offer. I prefer paypal. 48 hour approval period after payment received. Buyer pays shipping both ways. BTW it's not as orange as it looks in the pictures: it's koa colored. I’ve put up more pictures here and will post more as requested: http://s843.photobucket.com/albums/z...ll%20Standard/ Last edited by pcocco; 01-24-2012 at 03:52 PM. Reason: Added vido |

pcocco... as a fan of both Goodall and Koa (I have a Royal Hawaiian Jumbo), that is one outstanding looking guitar you have. I'm sure it sounds every bit as good as it looks.
Good luck on the sale...

Hi Rodger,
It's absolutely gorgeous. Problem is I need to get a smaller guitar. This one's just too big to play an entire night and I always wanted a cutaway. Just picked up a Grand Concert Indian Rosewood cutaway built the same year that's in mint condition. Completely different sound which will take some getting used to. Maybe the wife will let me keep both............... |

Last bump. Ebay auction ends tomorrow and if it doesn't sell it's off the market.
I always wanted two Goodalls |

Well, nothing from ebay so I guess I'll keep her a while until the market improves. Anyone looking for a drop dead gorgeous Koa Standard feel free to let me know: [email protected]

That's quite a nice piece you've got there. The figuring on the sides and back is beautiful. Unfortunately, I just dropped $4600 on a Taylor K65 BTO.
Good luck with your sale!
