Fender strat chosen
Just thought i'd say thanks to all those who gave me their opinions on a fender for blues. In the end I'm going for a Fender mex standard (I prefere the finish on the neck and the profile of the neck to the classics) it'll be sage green with maple fingerboard. I'm going to get it fitted with Kinman AVN Blues pickups, which were highly recommended to me by a coupla places and seem to get really good reviews. Jim (desperate with only one guitar as he changes his others!)

The Mexi Strats are fine instruments. A little shielding and some pickups and your are set.
Happy twang.

Oh, I would have gone with a 50's Surf green, change to a pearl pick guard(3 ply vs. 1 ply) comes with a soft 'v' neck.
Oh, sory that's mine. Sounds like yours will be great too. Good luck
