Default This is the oldest surviving melody dating back to 1400 BC

https://www.thevintagenews.com/2018/...y-dating-back/

The Oldest known musical melody performed by the very talented Michael Levy on the Lyre. This ancient musical fragment dates back to 1400 B.C.E. and was discovered in the 1950's in Ugarit, Syria.

It's got a good beat, easy to dance to ... I'll give it an 8.

It's actually a very nice melody.

This was pre V bracing correct? It doesn't seem as articulate as the new V bracing does.

Every time me and my teenage sister listened to that, our parents shouted "turn that crap down" from the other pyramid.

Assuming an accurate performance, it's surprising how many of the fundamentals of plucked string technique were already in place 3500 years ago...

It may be the oldest known written melody . My guess is that there may be a few older that which simply were never scribed or written .
I do find it pleasing .
