Clear Pick Guard
I have a Breedlove Passport Mahogany (D/DMMe), and the clear plastic pickguard, IMO, does not present well to the over-all appearance of the guitar.
The protective film over the PG is starting to lift and even makes it look worse. After I remove the PG, will there be any finish issues or adhesive to deal with? Looking for some opinions/advice.. Thanks

Yes any protective film is supposed to be removed
My clear pick guard is only 3 years old, but so far looks great

Yes, pull the shipping film off and live with it for a while.
The clear guard might seem objectionable to you now but I can tell you you REALLY won't like all the surface wear and pick tracks in the actual finish after a few years. Pick guards are the definition of "the lesser of two evils".

Yes, the protective PG film will be removed, and I understand it's intended purpose. I think my question may be better stated: in PG removal, will there be a finsh issue/adhesive reisdue to deal with.? If it were an older instrument I would think fading or finish shading, but for satin finish on Mahogany top.. really not sure.?

There usually is some adhesive residue that can be removed with naphtha.
