Default Pre-Employment psychological assessment tests.

Anyone ever take and pass one? I took one recently and reportedly failed it.
A Wal Mart DC (Distribution center) 1 mile from my home has an opening for a yard truck driver. Job is simply to move trailers around on the property.
I'm a truck driver w/20 years experience and a spotless MVR who has been employed at the same job (semi local delivery route) for 11 years. And would actually be taking a cut in pay to leave.
But none of that counts. In fact they won't even see it because my app got canned over a psych test that I took online and apparently failed.
Anyone got a clue what they look for on these tests?
I'm OK with not changing jobs for the most part. I would'nt have stayed 11 years where I'm if I didn't like it. The only reason I wanted this one was a 2 mile daily commute vs. 70 miles. The savings in gas & time would make up the dif in pay.

Have you ever been charged with littering?

It's always a good idea to understand why the tests are administered. Unless skills are being tested, there is no pass or fail.

The tests are not about whether you can do the job, its to see if you will integrate with the company and other employees. Basically, takes the responsibility out of the hands of HR.

These tests show if you will require wearing knee pads while employed at the company, borderline discriminatory if you ask me, I would pass on any job that has these sort of psychological evaluations to weed out applicants,

Got a link to the test? Sounds like it'd be fun to mess with.

had to take one about 3 years ago for hospital employment-there were 6 parts to this entry test(before you would be allowed to even apply for the job position), each part took around 20 minutes-you were timed, you could not use a calculator. It was all quite hard. Many things were of the psychological world, then many things were mechanical and personal. This company had all current administrative employees take the exam-some passed some failed, but they were already employed and nothing happened.
very little of any of the 6 parts had to do with what i do, or how i do my job.

I had/have excellent work references...............they did not check any of those-my hiring was all based on that series of tests.

I did pass the exam and was allowed to apply for the job(they called me wanting me to fill the position to start with).

strange times we live in

They sent it to me online. A link in my email. I can't re-access it because it's password protected and mine doesn't allow entry anymore.

After the weekend I had, I can certainly say truer words were never spoken.

I'd not work for a company that wanted me to take one of these tests in lieu of sitting down and talking like human beings.

Good Luck in trying to find a sample out there, who knows, maybe someone would give you a link. As I said, I think these sort of tests are totally unconstitutional and illegal, but what are you going to do if you want to work for a company and that's what they require for you to get through the door. I think these tests are not easily faked either, or they can detect lack of sincerity and inconsistency of you are trying to cheat the test, here's an interesting link on Wiki that I found informative,

Between '93 and '96 i was mostly out of work for the first time in my working life.

I had interviews with "psychometric tests" - never got a job when they came out.
