Default Capo for V neck and Fast-Fret question!

Hello guys!

I need a Capo for my acoustic guitar and I'll buy it from strings by mail, so I don't have the chance of test it! Can you recommend me one or any of them would do the job (My guitar is RO-127, V - Neck, 1-3/4)?

The other question about Fast-Fret is if I should worry about any damages on my ebony fretboard?

Thank you and sorry for my bad english!

A Shubb or a Kyser capo are probably your best bets, sight unseen. They're both good "starter" capos, and will both last you a while, until you decide its time to spend a little more money and step up to something fancier.

The difference between them is the kyser is made for quick changes. The Shubb on the other hand takes a little longer to change, but has the added benefit of adjustable tension.

Well, I have an Elliot capo I had made for my SCGC D/PW with a custom v neck profile on bottom side of the capo. Maybe the Paige or a Shubb would be my vote.

I think instead of fast fret I would use Dr. Ducks to oil the board and steel wool on the frets... But thats me.

shubb makes the SV3, especially for v-neck acoustics. I use one with my D-18GE. I don't use Fast Fret or anything else on my strings and ebony fretboards, but I have friends who swear by it, and have been using it for years and years with no adverse effects.

I like shubb. And not fast fret will not damage. I love the stuff.

Shubb - the Kyser can have too much tension for some neck profiles and I've seen it dent some necks.

I used Fast Fret a couple decades ago but haven't used it since. I do keep my hands and fingerboard clean - that makes the difference for me.

I've used Fast Fret for 35 years and never had a problem with any guitar fingerboard, regardless of its wood species. Fast Fret will help keep your strings clean--even coated strings like D'Addario EXP and Elixer--and allow your fingers to slide up-and-down the fretboard with less drag and finger squeak. Fast Fret is a positive item to use for your guitar-playing enjoyment!

Regards,

SpruceTop

anybody got a link for the SV3? I've surfed around the net for twenty minutes and can't seem to find one. Everything BUT this model I find. Would like to have one for my soon to be delivered HD-28VS.

Thanks SpruceTop and Tone Gopher

What is the difference between C1 and S1? How do you compare them to Planet Waves dual action?

I had an RD-227 and the standard Shubb was a great capo for it.
Fast Frets is a good product. I used it for years on my Martin with no bad effects.
Now I just oil the fret boards on my guitars once a year and don't use the Fast Frets any more.
