Default String comparison Martin Magnifico vs Augustine Black

I think the Martin set is normal tension and the Augustine Black is a low tension set. I like them both, good for different moods. I like the Martin strings for this particular piece. I used my Cordoba Fusion 12 Orchestra for this demo. The Magnifico are synthetic gut.

Martin = 25 31 36 29 35 42

Augustine = 28 32 40 28.5 32.5 43.5

The Magnifico set:

Hi Barry,
I thought they both sounded nice.
The Augustines sound a little more mellow to my ears, less bright, which I think works really well for this piece.
But it's subjective of course. In a tie breaker, your ears win!

Agreed, I also find the Augustines to sound sweeter. Both sound good.
