It's only $4399 at amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-K24ce-.../dp/B00JU9WM94

That's $1801 cheaper.

Any chance he would dig the sound of an older/vintage all Koa hawaiian guitar? Several prominent brands made them as well as quite a few Hawaiian luthiers... For example - there were several vintage all Koa martin, gibson, and pre-war oscar schmidt models that fall well under this price range.....

Sure, Gibson makes them every now and again, and I see them in the 2k-3k range new, sub-2k used. There's few songwriter's in all koa that float into the for-sale market from time to time.

His desire is a bit luxurious in comparison to what he has bought you though, and it seems a bit unfair on the surface of it. There's lots of expensive guitars I'd love to own, but I would never ask my wife to let me indulge in those fantasies. I stick within the range of what is a reasonable given the perspective that I am an amateur hobbyist. Surely he can find an all-koa guitar in a lower price rung.
