It seems as if the sound bite didn't embed! Let me try again:

This is a recording of the Michaud OO-R Engelmann Koa in the hands of my friend. It is recorded into an AKG mic through his iPad, no effects and some compression. It's a one take sort of thing so don't mind the mistakes!

Well, I do get to play it from time to time so I wouldn't consider it a loss If I had a need for an OO-R sized guitar I would have kept it for sure!

This is another recording by the owner on a pair of Peluso mics. Do use ear/headphones when listening as I believe that it is recorded in stereo and panned to either ear

Very Nice love the top (love Englemann) and the inlay concept is cool all around.

Enjoy!

Chris

Crikey! That's a superlative example of great sound from a great guitar played really well. Years ago I sold off all of my expensive recording gear and got a mic and iPad - I wanted to declutter and focus more on the performance than the kit. This clip shows why that's important. Great guitar. Great playing.

The clip with the pelusos is clearly very pro standard, but the point stands that you can record well for little outlay these days.

Cheers,
Steve

Well, not quite as talented as someone's 14 year old daughter

The playing and recording was done by my friend, I shall definitely pass the kind words on

It really is a sweet little guitar, extremely responsive to a light touch (I'm assuming due to the Engelmann + Joel's bracing) with a sparkling clarity to it.

Yes, the Peluso's are quite a pair of mics. They are plugged into the iPad via a small iRig I believe. Thank you for the kind words!

This particular piece has sparked my love for Engelmann too GREAT top wood for finger style. Can't complain about its creamy white colour either!
