Recorsings using built-in mics from iPad/Tablet/Phone just dont sound good. And yes, I know "good" is very subjective.

What I want to do is record one acoustic gtr and one vox, alone, at my desk, and spend $50-100 on a usb mic that will sound warm and clear and maybe even grab the tone of the guitar Im using.

What do you suggest?

google usb mics. read the reviews. pick one. if you don't like it, try another. note that one or the other-vocals or guitar will probably suffer with only one mic unless you record one and then the other.

oh, and do a search of this subforum as it has been a subject in the recent past.

play music!

I suggest you may need to lower your expectations.
