Yep, I use type III and have never had a separation during a purfling bend. Well almost never. That's the only place I use III though

I posted a duplicate, so let me reiterate how much I like your work.

We think we'll put off getting another dog until after SBAIC. Thank you to those who have expressed kindness.

Roxie: Feb 22, 2005 - July 7, 2016. Best dog ever.

Bruce,

My condolences on your loss. I can tell from reading your posts in this thread that Roxie was very dear to you and your family.

It's a sad time. Amazing how much love they can bring. I lasted 4 weeks between my last dogs. I wish you well.

Thanks again, and I am going to have to move on. . . but not till I share the little project (genuine Honduras Mahogany) that Laurelyn and I did together today:

Okay, back to guitars. Here's the Schoenberg 000 with the top purfling/binding on:

Default dogs

Dogs have a way of weaseling into your affection and becoming very much a part of the family. And they wouldn't have it any other way. Nor would we.

The problem of course is that they don't live as long as us "two-leggeds". Whenever we've lost one, it didn't feel right until we got another.

The Schoenberg 000 is completely bound, and I will bring the Sexauer 0 up to the same point before I make the necks. I used more delicate purflings on the Schoenberg's back and sides than I usually do on my own guitars. This allowed me to miter the back purflings into the back strip, and posed a real challenge to my vision and tool skills, but it came out fine, I think:

A Martin 12 fret Long Scale 000 from the Golden Era would not have had side purflings at all, I believe, so there is quite a bit of license taken all around.

So much easier to miter the bigger purflings! The 0 is now caught up to the 000.

And I am off to the Saturday night gig!
