Default Best AMP POLL!!! L@@K

Finally got my Martin DC-28E, what an amazing instrument!!!

Anyways, Ive been playing for too long with cheap stuff…hence the martin about a month ago.

Now Im ready for a good AMP to complement it, as I do small gigs in the area and always play with the guys on the weekends.

So, these are the AMPS I have made it to with my budget.

I like the Marshall and cant find a bad review on it.

Please any advice is helpful and let me know what you think.

I play mostly classic rock, and finger-pickin, stuff.

Thanks everyone!!!

What about Ultrasound Amps? Probably the best for the money. Their CP100 is great as is their AG50DS4.

First of all -- Welcome to the AGF.

Secondly, I have the "50" version of this amp:

Marshall AS100D Acoustic Combo Amp -

I thought it was a great acoustic amp. It made my Taylor's sound "oh so" nice!

Hope this is helpful to you....

I am more of a Genz-Benz guy.
I also like the Roland and the SWR.
All things being equal I would choose a Genz-Benz.
My Taylor's always sounded great through my GB Shenandoah 60 Stereo.

Ultrasounds are nice, GB are nicer.........just my opinion after playing quite a few of both, GB's are more versatile to me.

My first choice for a combo amp would be an Ultrasound. Genz Benz would be a close second. My preferred amp for playing live is no amp (direct to a PA.)

I used to have the Fender Acoustasonic SFX II. I sold it about 2 years ago and bought the Fishman Loudbox Performer. A few months ago, I switched to the Genz Benz Shenandoah 150LT with the extension cabinet.

I feel like I'm all set and won't be needing a different amp for a long time, but since I seem to buy a new guitar each year and a new amp every other year, I'd better not say that this is the last amp for me.

Since I own a Fishman Loudbox 250w and have owned a Fishman Acoustic Performer Pro before and there was no Ultrasound on the vote, I voted Fishman. Should've been an Ultrasound on there anyway. I'm playing with my AG50DS2 tonight! So I guess that would be 8 votes for Ultrasound now??

Looks like Ultrasound could be the 3rd Party spoiler for Genz-Benz. It's interesting to see an amp with such small exposure and market presence to have such a large and loyal following. I know I've mentioned it before, but folks who buy Ultrasound amps tend to keep them. You rarely see them up on ebay or even here on the AGF classifieds. And those who try to find used ones often have to look long and hard to find them.

I've been playing through a Peavy ecoustic 112 for about 7 years, never tried any other, so totally ignorant on "comparison". Please enlighten me, how does what I have stack up with the "best" that is out there now?
