CA Cargo - Can you sand/paint....?
I know "shudder". Looks like I am getting a Road tuff Charcoal Cargo
I have a friend that sprays Bikes to Guitars. I know he will know how to do it right. But, I am not clogging man made pores or anything am I? Have any of you "Customized your Carbon Guitars? |

Never done it but it should not be a problem since the resin used in the manufacture of carbon fiber is very epoxy-like. Epoxy can be painted and so can finish resins. Ever heard of Z-Poxy "finishing resin"? We use it to fill the pores of tone-wood then apply finish directly over it after it has been sealed with either Shellac or a catalyzed vinyl washcoat.

Sure you can paint it, Any good automotive grade urethane will do the job if prepped correctly. Thats what CA uses.
But don't expect it to sound the same, it's gonna be duller. |

You may want to be careful when sanding - it could pose respiratory problems like sanding fiberglass. I'd look into it more, and definitely wear a respirator.
