Interest in Composing Classes/Group?
I am looking into Baroque guitar composing, looking to get down to basics, which in theory would transfer over to composing in other genras.
Basicly we start off with simple melodies, and then 'add' counterpoint, the stuff is uploaded to a private site, so there is not alot of people looking in. I want to stretch my brain, and this is a great way to do it. So, question is, anyone interested in trying this out? 1.Do you have an interest in composing your own guita1.r music? 2.Do you have a means to record it and post it? I would actually prefer newbies who lean toward wanting to compose, but if you have been playing a while thats ok too, because not alot of people are going to be interested in this. The success depends on who and what is brought to the table. If interested, you can PM me, and Ill get you the site address etc...

Ok, this is the site I am using, and I have 2 basic Baroque style pieces I noodles out up there. The next phase would be to 'add' counterpoint to these melodies. I am just fleshing out a basic concept of counterpoint here, the music I have up there may not be in line with all the 'rules' of Baroque style music, but adding counterpoint has to be, and seems to be automatic. That is, if you make a mistake, you can 'hear' it.
The more you put out, the more you learn. Adding and recording the counterpoint will be a fun chore, because it starts sounding like music! http://bgmcus.ning.com/
