I love Tenacious D and have since I first saw their shorts on HBO many MANY years ago. I swear anyone who's been in a band has worked with guys just like the ones they portray. I can't get enough. I even loved the movie, though I could have done without the Bigfoot scene.

i think some of it is funny but other stuff are eh.

If you havent already heard of them though, you need to check out Flight of the Conchords. They are great both live and on their HBO show. Really funny and clever.

I thought the HBO shorts were great and the movie was so-so.

I used to love the D but it seems like since their first album and HBO special they've kinda gotten a bit bland.

I never saw the HBO shorts, but loved the song and video to "Greatest Song In The World: Tribute", and loved the movie as well. I though it was funny that Meat Loaf played his dad, and when Dio came out of the poster I cracked up.

The "Classico" scene on the beach had me it tears, as well as the scene where he hit the stop button on the laser sensors!

Agreed on the bigfoot scene, that was just plain hokie. Haven't really cared for any of the songs off the newest cd, though. Sounds like they were just thrown together, not funny at all, imo.
