Yeah, I miss basements. They are useful for so many things. Coming from the hills of Tennessee I'm used to every house having one. I moved out to the coast where they literally don't exist. I live on a slab. Of course, it made construction of the control room I'm sitting in right now easier: to mount the monitors we broke through the slab and poured footings that support the columns that hold the fitted boxes our monitors live in. They are located in a soffit but totally isolated from floors, ceiling, and walls. We then floated the floors of the complex.

* CLASP: Closed Loop Analog Signal Processor. This system allows you to record to analog tape and route the output of the deck simultaneously to a DAW so that you have the sound of analog but the editing features of digital. Essentially you are using the analog tape deck as a plug-in during recording only.

I saw and heard the CLASP being demonstrated at a studio in Denver it seemed like a pretty ingenious system for syncing tape to DAW . If I remember correctly currently it is only supported with Pro Tools and Nuendo/Cubase

They were using Cubase on this session.
