Looks like you were pretty lucky. I've hit deer (or they've hit me) much slower than that and had much more damage to my car(s).

No fun, though.

Nope, happened too fast. Never saw it coming. No chance to hit brakes or evade etc. It was like the dang deer dropped out of the sky. There was a WHOLE LOT of cursing.

I'll remind you now, before I forget.

But seriously, I *would* like to hear it.

The service manager at Honda tried to tell me that was a good thing?
Your car is well built, sorry for the deer.

One other anecdote. About 10 years ago I was coasting downhill on my mountain bike and a deer did drop out of the sky, actually it came flying out of the brush, nicked my shoulder and I rolled down a ravine. Hit poison ivy, didn't break anything, cept my courage, but the poison ivy infection took months to clear. Those deer have no scruples!

Some Indiana roads are elevated with drainage ditches on each side. friend was driving home, probably around 70mph, and a cow came up out of one of the ditches. He also was in an F150 and told me he only had time for two thoughts, "Cow!" followed by "Airbag!". There were cow parts all the way back to the firewall.

Just ordered a header panel (broken black piece in front of radiator) and a complete unpainted grill. $226. combined/shipped. And new headlight is about $50. Paint will run another $20. or so. So it's looking like approx $300. doing it myself.
Maybe there are some benies from not going to college. I learned to do this stuff because I couldn't afford to pay to have it done.

Except it would be IFD.

Actually a buck ran into the driver side of my daughters Mini when she was going about 45. She didn't see it until the last second. It came running up the embankment full speed hit between the wheel well and the door destroyed the front quarter panel and the mirror and just bounced back up and ran off.

That's how it was here. It was right by an overpass/interchange. The deer came up out of a ditch. I drove by the same spot 2 hrs later in the big truck. Couldn't see the deer. It has to be dead, I T boned it. It's apparently in the ditch.

Well I can't tell it here. It's x rated. In summary I was kidnapped by a starship full of female aliens from a planet where all the males had died from a space disease. I saved the planet by helping them reproduce. ALL of them.
