Which Capo
I've never used a capo before and I'm curious, not quite sure whether I need it but I think I can see the appeal when playing some songs and I want to move up the bar and still be able to fingerpick around with the little finger. I'm playing a classical, wide at the nut, 2" but would like some suggestions, or is this not a good idea?

There is nothing wrong in using capo with classical guitar. Just make sure you get the model made for classical guitars. Stringsbymail.com offers all popular models, you can start your research from there. Planet Waves NS and Shubb get good reviews. Before you buy one, you have to find for yourself what features are most important for you.

I gave a Planet Waves NS Classical to a friend and he tells me it's the best capo for classical guitar he's ever owned. Having played guitar since the 1930s, he's owned several. |

Shubb capos are best whatever guitar you have - just make sure you get the one designed for classical guitar.

Shubb, simply the best and simply... simple... modestly priced
I have 6 of them .. 2 for steel string, 2 classical, 2 banjo Second best.. the Dunlop with the black strap..a favorite of Flamenco players who do not use the traditional wood type... I have owned one for years... never fails.. works . |

The Shubb S2 for nylon string guitars capo arrived today, it took about two minutes to fall in love with it. I once read that the definition of genius is the simpliest answer to the question - fitting.
