I grabbed one last Spring at that price and from MF a few weeks ago at that price too. So far so good...the bass isn't bad for a 10" sub. I bought the Pro Coverage for both units. The sales guy told me that *when the unit breaks, they'll replace it with the MLS1000

Running direct, the volume has to be WAY up to get usable sound.

I know a musician who gigs with one. He's going on 2 years strong with it.

I heard some Harbingers at my local hangout this summer. Obviously you get what you pay for but they were fine. As mentioned on a related thread my only concern would be longevity. If I were on a budget I'd totally consider it.

What are you plugging in direct? An active mic or mag pickup, or a passive piezo? Does it have a HI Z setting?

Sennheiser e945. Taylor 324ce w/ES2. The XLR inputs have a 3 way switch, one position is for guitar I believe (so perhaps Hi-Z)

The channel volume knobs sweep from 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock. I have to go to about 4 to get a usable volume level.

Today I swapped out my Stagepas 1k at work with the MLS 900. I was trying to disassemble the 900 in the dark. Apparently I accidentally tapped the columns in the wrong direction. At work, the sub only worked. After some early Henry Winkler (Fonzy) persuasion, the unit came back to life.

Lucky I have the 3 year warranty. So I may have a MLS1000 before long.
