Default 2018 Goodall Grand Concert SOLD

2018 Goodall Grand Concert (RGC)

Master Grade Western Red Cedar/East Indian Rosewood
Flamed Koa Binding
Abalone Rosette
Honduran Mahogany Neck
Ebony fingerboard and bridge
Fretwire: Jescar Evo Gold .050x.080
Fingerboard Radius 15
Neck Profile, Medium C
Gotoh 510 Gold Tuners
Scale 25.5"
Nut width 1.75"
String spacing 2.25"
Action 3/64" treble, 5/64" bass (strung with D'Addario EJ16)
Neck relief .007"
Weight 4lbs. 6oz.
Case is Goodall branded Ameritage Gold Series with humidification system

Some minor surface scratches and blemishes in clear coat, but small enough it's hard to capture in photos. Kept in a smoke free environment with constant 40-50% relative humidity. Overall a very clean guitar that has been well cared for.

This guitar is loud, open, and warm sounding, with a great balance between fundamentals and overtones. To me this is a superb do it all guitar, responsive enough for finger style and a light touch, but powerful enough to hold its own with a dreadnought when digging in picking or strumming.

Action is currently set at 1.5mm treble, 2mm bass at the 12th fret, with no buzzes or issues. Very comfortable and easy to play all the way up the neck. I've never had a guitar this good at this price point before.

I don't post a lot here, but have been a member for over 10 years and have bought/sold/traded a bunch of high end guitars with well established members here. Happy to supply references if needed.
SOLD shipped CONUS. I have never seen another Fort Bragg made Goodall GC listed for this low of a price anywhere.

@OddManOut

Thanks for embedding the photos in the thread. Can you tell me how you did that? I'm a tech luddite.

It looks like very old growth to me, and has some lovely silking.

I find a lot of Indian Rosewood sort of boring, but this set is I think is gorgeous as well.

I'd be curious to know more about James' wood stash. He's been building for nearly 50 years. He used to have a shop with employees in Hawaii that put out higher volume. Then he moved back to Cali and only works with his son Luke, building about 100 guitars per year. The guitars I've seen from this more recent period have taken it to a new level.

You're most welcome. PM sent...

Beautiful guitar, BTW...both the top silking and the set of EIR are sublime!

This seller is a great guy to deal with and these Cedar topped newer Goodall guitars are just incredible bang for the buck in the fingerstyle guitar world! Tough to go wrong with this guitar! GLWS

Default Friendly nudge to the top...

The seller, Dandridge, is one of the good guys on the forum. He has incredible knowledge of top guitars & I bet this Goodall GC sings. Certainly I'll never sell my Goodall & I'll trust the seller's description of this GC 100%. I just don't think you can go wrong with this one, a top seller & a very well priced Goodall too. I can wholeheartedly recommend dealing with Dandridge & my own transaction with him was a joy. Best of luck to you, buddy!

Thanks Bobby. I greatly appreciate all the guitar knowledge you've passed on to me. Also hello to Neil, my friend across the pond.......

As for the Goodall, I've almost had a deal done three times, but not closed.

So let's try this again at $3,950 shipped. I don't think you'll find a better guitar for that price.

I’m asking $1,050 more for my RCJC, but I won’t lower it this far. Yours is a steal! Best of luck (I don’t really want to sell mine. As a funky blues player, I always keep at least one Goodall in the collection for the pretty songs).

If I didn’t ready own a Goodall grand concert, there would be a check in the mail. This is a great buy!

Saturday bump. This is a great sounding and playing guitar, you won't be disappointed. I am only selling it because I just received a custom build that was $$$$$, and need to part with a couple of guitars to replenish my bank account!
