That is really nice! That's just the kind of electric I want to get (and a Les Paul when I retire). I actually got G.A.S. for an electric! My first time!

At home I play through a Genz Benz Shenandoah Pro. This is a great little amp with a tube preamp. At gigs I play through the Bose L1. It sounds great through both. BTW, I blame this purchase on the ES-335 thread. I will not be held responsible.

Thanks, Nigel. I think so, too. It sounds great and the neck feels awesome (even sensual ).

Beautiful! I used to have an ES-175....another I wish I'd never traded! *sigh*

Congratulations.

Bad news. I came home today and there was a two inch crack on the lower bout of the back. It just appeared (and I am totally serious). The guitar was never bumped. It has no marks around the wound at all. Just a crack. Thankfully, it is only a week old and GC authorized a return. I am sick about it, but entirely up to the challenge of finding a replacement guitar.

Can you say, let's go shopping?

Wow, that's a bummer but glad you have some recourse. Have fun shopping for a new axe. Will you replace this one with the same model?

I don't know if I can get the same model without waiting a while. GC won't get one in until, supposedly, 1/26. I am not real good at waiting.

Anyone have an ES-175 they want to sell for a reasonable price?

1/26 is not that far away. I'd wait. The 175 is an awesome guitar. I used to own one, and wish I still had it

I don't really think they will get one on 1/26. I could just get the regular ol' ES-175 and not the Steve Howe. I'm a thinkin' and a wonderin' all the way down the road...

Nice guitar. It's looks very similar. of course, to my ES175 Reissue. I got mine about two years ago and have only played it about five times total.

I got bit by the acoustic fingerstyle bug right after I got the ES175 and so all my time now is spent with a couple of Goodalls' and a Tacoma all with 1 3/4" necks. The ES175 1 11/16" (at best) neck is just too narrow for me now.

Can't GC check with the other stores if the guitar is in stock ? I can't believe it wouldn't be available.

I've already done that. No GC store has one and GC online only had the one they sold me that was defective and I sent back. With regard to the 1/26 date on their website, I am told that these big corporate music stores put a date down just to keep the interest level up then change it when that date comes and goes. It is likely that they don't have any actual delivery date for that guitar.
