New Vox AC30CC is around $1000 US and will do all of what you ask.
The Traynor YCV 50 is about $300 cheaper and is also very good but the Vox has 4 EL 84s which will give a more unique tone.

I think you owe it to yourself to check out Peavey's Delta Blues...

I agree with the above statement from Daddyo. The new Vox amps are made in China and are not point to point any more, but they are great sounding and rather versitile.

The store didn't carry much so i tried it using an Epiphone LP.

Anyhow, I'd also take a look at the Fender Bassman 59 RI. I believe this was the amp that Jim Marshall copied when he got into the amp business. Very basic amp though... but it sounds so nice.

no, the blues deville is definitely an electric guitar amp. because its a warm, tube amp you might be able to get away with running an acoustic thru it if it was all you had. but i would not choose it for that application unless there was simply no other option.

There are very few amps that will work well on both traditional electrics and acoustic/electrics.

I agree that the Blues Deluxe and Hot-rod Deluxe are great choices for what you might be looking for. Great clean tones - pickup a couple pedals and you would be set. These amps will hang in with a lot of higher priced amps.

Maybe a bit more than you want to spend, but the old saying you get what you pay for is true. Check out thre Carr Hammerhead Mark II (Combo). It is available as a 1 x12, 2 x 12, or a 2 x 10. Highly rated.

Go find you a 15w Fender Blues Junior in Tweed. Make sure it has a Jensen or Celestion and send it off to billm for some mods. You can get the amp for <$500 and spend a couple hundred on mods and a few pedals. That way you can play it at home, mic it at a gig and only have to carry around 31 pounds! I love mine!

Bill Machrone's home page is:

The Fender Blues Jr. is definitely on my short list to try. I also did some researching and found some sites where folks have modded the amps, or swapped out the speaker for a celestion of some sort.

I think in the short term I'm going to have to punt and just get a cheap practice amp for now. Once I figure out what tube amp I really want, I'll save up for it.

Thing is, I could just buy a mini PA or acoustic amp such as the Yorkville AM50 and run my DIgitech GNX3000 into it (it has speaker compensation for when u r connected to a PA-type amp/speaker) -it models all sorts of vintage amps. But, as neat (and useful) as that is, I want the real thing as well.

I'd go for a Vox. The AC15 with the blue speaker, unless you need a seriously loud amp in which case the AC30. For less money you can get 90% of the tone of a Vox from a Laney VC30. I hear good things about the Traynors too.

I have been playing my 68 fender princeton reverb, but just bought a Crate Palomino 16 (GC version, white) its a class A tube, with spring reverb. I know crate does not have a great rep, but I played this amp a few times and knew it was really a classic. No foot switch, no standby but the gain is such that you can get real grit at lower volumes. Its light and cheap and well built. the Crate versions is their V series.

do yourself a favor and try one out....... if you like the British sound or just clean... its 15 watts with a 12 inch celestion speaker...
